Pet-Friendly Senior Living

Bring Your Best Friend Home
For many people, the first question about senior living is not about the floor plan or the dining. It is about the dog asleep at their feet or the cat waiting by the window. Pets offer comfort, routine, and companionship, and leaving them behind is not something anyone should have to consider. At Symphony Park, you don’t have to. Our independent living community in Huntersville, NC, welcomes dogs and cats, so you can start your next chapter with your companion right beside you.

Pets Are Part of the Family Here
We know pets are family. Our pet policy is designed to keep things simple for you and comfortable for everyone in the community. Residents may have up to two dogs or cats per apartment, with a few guidelines:
- Size: Pets generally must weigh 35 pounds or less. The Executive Director can approve exceptions.
- Approval: Written approval from the Executive Director is needed before a pet moves in, including pets adopted after you move in.
- Health and Coverage: Current vaccination records from a licensed veterinarian and proof of liability insurance are required.
- Pet Fee: A one-time, nonrefundable pet fee of $500 applies. Qualifying service animals are exempt.
Residents are responsible for the care, cleanliness, behavior, and supervision of their pets. These shared expectations help keep Symphony Park a pleasant place for every resident, whether they own a pet or not.
How to Bring Your Pet to Symphony Park
Getting your pet approved is straightforward. Most residents find the process takes just a few simple steps.
Share Your Pet’s Details: Tell the Executive Director about your pet, including breed, size, and temperament.
Provide Your Records: Submit current vaccination records and proof of liability insurance.
Receive Approval: Once your documentation is reviewed, you will receive written approval.
Settle In Together: After approval and any applicable pet fee, your pet is welcome to move in with you.
Thinking about adopting a pet after you move in? The same steps apply, and our team is happy to walk you through them.

Amenities Made for Pet Owners
Life with a pet should be easy, and our community is designed with that in mind.
- Outdoor Dog Park: A dedicated space where your dog can stretch their legs and you can catch up with fellow pet owners.
- Pet Washing and Grooming Rooms: Located on the second floor of each residential building, so bath time no longer means a messy bathroom or a trip across town.
- Walking Paths and Grounds: Beautifully landscaped grounds offer plenty of room for daily walks, subject to our pet-use guidelines.
For many residents, these daily walks become one of the best parts of the day. Pets are natural conversation starters, and it is common for friendships to begin with a simple “What’s your dog’s name?”
What This Means for You
Moving to a new home is a big change, and keeping your pet with you can make that change feel much easier. At Symphony Park, you don’t have to choose between a carefree, resort-style lifestyle near Lake Norman and Charlotte and the companion who has been with you through it all. You can have both.
Have questions about bringing your pet? Our team would love to meet you, and your furry friend, in person.
